Our Purpose... The purpose of Grace Chapel’s involvement in missions is to fulfill the great commission of Christ. We as a church body define missions as any endeavor outside our local congregation to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ by proclaiming the gospel of Christ, making disciples and relating to the whole need of mankind-spiritual and physical. Missions Statement... We at Grace Chapel of the Coast believe we are called to fulfill The Great Commission of Jesus (Matt. 28:18-20) through sharing the gospel and praying for the lost, through supporting in our giving and in prayer those who minister to the lost throughout the world and through equipping, training and sending individuals and teams from our church to be Christ's ambassadors. Acts 1:8 “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” -Jesus |

MUSLIM MINISTRIES Joseph & Michele Mauritania & Connecticut Muslims, relief work
Joseph and Michele have worked for over
20 years in North Africa ministering to Muslims through
evangelism and training and humanitarian aid. When Joseph first
came to North Africa he was told that this country was
"impossible" to reach for Christ. This country had no known
native believers in Christ and no resident evangelical witness.
It is a nation with the death penalty for any citizen who
considers any religion other than Islam. But now there are
hundreds of believers meeting in house fellowships. Joseph and
Michele oversee a large staff who minister to the people of this
country. Joseph and Michele now reside part time in New Haven, CT while their two children attend high school for the first time. Joseph is now part-time Director of the Reconciliation Program at the Yale Center for Faith and Culture, at Yale University Divinity School and continues to serve part-time as International Director of “Muslim Ministries”. Michele continues to serve as Team Leader Overseer, overseeing the “Muslim Ministries” program in North Africa, and they spend substantial time in North Africa. Joseph also travels often to meet with top Muslim educational and political leaders. His knowledge of the Koran is extensive and he is invited to speak about his relationship with God at exclusive Muslim conferences and high-level government meetings.

David & Heidi Coombs Abancay, Peru Bible translation
David and Heidi joined Wycliffe in 1971 and began work in 1973 in Peru. After learning Spanish and doing language survey work, their first major assignment was Bible translation in Cajamarca Quechua in Northern Peru. Along with Quechua co-workers, they produced over 70 publications to help the people learn to read and understand the Scriptures. They dedicated the Cajamarca Quechua New Testament in January, 2005. They now work in the city of Abancay in Southern Peru with a team of six pastors who are bilingual in a different Quechua language and Spanish, translating the Bible into East Apurimac Quechua. The team completed the translation of the New Testament in late December of 2011, and are eagerly awaiting its layout and publication. They then began the translation of the Old Testament. A local Peruvian ministry called AIDIA oversees the translation and six other strategic ministries, all of which depend on the translated Word of God to reach and serve the Quechua-speaking people.
